12 Reasons Why You Should Drink Fine Wine
The world of fine wines is an exciting one. It’s filled with complex flavors and nuanced aromas that range from dark, rich, and earthy to bright, fresh, and even fruity. What’s more, there are many different types of wine available today – from dry reds to sweet blush wines. However, because wine has such a negative association in most people’s minds (thanks to cheap boxed wines), it can be difficult for those who enjoy drinking it to explain why they do so or why it’s also something they want to continue doing. Thankfully drinking fine wine is a lot more than just a gimmick or fad; there are numerous reasons why anyone who enjoys wine should drink fine wine over the alternatives.

USUALLY COMES FROM SMALLER VINEYARDS.

There are more than 100,000 wineries in the world, but most of those produce inexpensive wine. In fact, the vast majority of wines come from vineyards that produce at least 10,000 cases a year. In other words, if a bottle of wine costs $10 or less, there’s a 90% chance that the vineyard produces at least 10,000 cases of wine each year. These statistics apply to not just red wine but also white wine. In fine wine, vineyards are usually small – usually producing less than 3,000 cases a year. In other words, a small vineyard that produces 2,000 cases a year has the potential to produce twice as many wines as a vineyard that produces 10,000 cases a year. Smaller vineyards are more likely to experiment with blending different grape varieties and aging wine in different types of barrels. This keeps fresh, exciting, and dynamic.
